Great Weekend of Great Performances!
Brownsburg Girls' and Boys' Track Teams excelled over the weekend with the girls' team repeating for the fourth consecutive time as winners of the Decatur Central Twilight Invitational and the boys' team repeating as runners-up despite the absence of several members of the team.
Winners at the Twilight Invitational included the boys' and girls' 4x800 relay teams, boys' 4x200 relay, girls' 4x400 relay, Todd Nibbs in the high jump, Sara Tate in the 100m hurdles, Alan Paddock in the 400m dash, Sydney Lesko in the 3200m run, and Daniel Purdy in the 800m run.
While the teams competed at the Twilight Invitational, Maddie Webster and Scott Vicenzi were among the state's top distance runners invited to compete at the Franklin Central Miracle Mile.
Maddie Webster ran to a personal and school record time of 5:07 earning a fourth place spot on the podium along side the state's best.
Scott Vicenzi raced to a personal record of 4:17.1 against a star studded field to earn a ninth place finish.
The boys' team went on to compete at the Midwest Prep Invite on Saturday turning in several top performances. The boys' 4x800 team of Scott Vicenzi, Scott Hathaway, Zach Cassels, and Daniel Purdy raced to a new school record time of 8:10 finishing second to the team from Lawrence North. Todd Nibbs earned fourth place honors in the high jump while Wyatt Rondot raced to a tenth place finish in the 3200m dropping sixteen seconds to establish a new personal record of 10:08.
